Reflecting on - Celebrating Black Joy: Voices of Strength and Legacy

On October 18th, we hosted an incredible evening dedicated to celebrating and discussing the significance of Black joy. This event marked the first collaboration between Thelma Matilda Alves Foundation and The Vavengers, and it was a heartfelt reminder of the power of community, connection, and joy. Held at The Vavengers' London office near St. Paul’s, the event was open to Black women, providing a welcoming space to share and celebrate our experiences.

First and foremost, a special thank you to The Vavengers for collaborating with us on this inspiring event. Your partnership has been invaluable, and together we created a space that truly resonated with our audience.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Alanna Okunneye, who expertly chaired and coordinated the panel. Her ability to facilitate engaging and thought-provoking discussions ensured that everyone felt included and inspired.

A heartfelt shoutout goes to Vean and Jessica for their beautiful poetry, which added a unique and powerful touch to the evening. Their words brought depth and emotion, highlighting the richness of Black experiences.

Lastly, our gratitude extends to Zainab Balogun, Vivienne Isebor, and Selina Flavius for joining our founder and CEO, Rayann Bryan, on the panel. Your insights and experiences contributed to a truly enriching conversation, shedding light on the importance of joy in our lives and communities.

Together, we are fostering a space that uplifts and celebrates Black joy! Thank you all for your contributions to this important dialogue. We look forward to continuing this conversation and supporting one another as we navigate our journeys together.
